Hunt For Vintage Keys

lately i've been on a hunt for vintage skeleton keys. i've scoured the web and even resorted to calling every little antique shop in our telephone book. this week my mission finally came to a happy ending about 15 miles from my home in a little antique shop i've driven by numerous times. well this time - i finally went in {with a 2 and a 3 year old too!} my boys played with some antique trucks and tractors while i asked the owner about her vintage keys. best part is - i paid between $1.50 - $2.00 for these beauties..what a deal! now it's time to get started on my next project. so here's what i'm making next...

Upcycled Gift Guide

This year I'm struggling to find gifts that I can afford, are fabulous, & with just the right touch of creativity and originality so my friends and family will know I put some thought into their gift. One day I found myself junk shopping and came across this wonderful wicker piece that would be great in my sister's sunroom.

I found THIS

It had been weathered & needed some stain.
Price was right at $15

I used some leftover MINWAX I had in the garage. Cost $0

It looked a bit rough..but in my head..
I was seeing THIS...

Now with all the staining and varnishing complete,
I am on the hunt for some nice,
inexpensive material for the cushions.
